Butler Catholic School Benefit Golf Outing, Lake Arthur Country Club, 255 Isle Drive, Butler. Each team will play with a junior player (grades 3-12) as a fifth person at no additional cost. Teams can bring a junior player, or one can be assigned from a roster of juniors drawn from local golf teams and programs. Registration for the scramble format begins at 8 a.m., with shogun start at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $360 for four team members, and includes green fees, lunch, pig roast dinner. Junior Golfers
Junior golfers, ages 12-18 or grades 6-12, are invited to play nine holes of golf in the summer, followed by a cookout, at Marada Golf Course, 1434 State Route 30 West in Clinton. Dates for golf and the cookout are Wednesdays, June 12, 19, 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug. 7 and 14. Tee time is 11 a.m., but players should arrive at 10:45 a.m. Typically, high school golfers will tee off first, followed by middle school golfers. Foursomes will be assigned, and each group will start the round with a prayer. Parents are welcome to participate as “playing chaperones.” Special guests will include priests, deacons, religious sisters and brothers, lay ecclesial ministers and seminarians. An adult, age 21 and over, will accompany each foursome to chaperone and ensure an appropriate pace of play. The cost is $25 per person if you play more than one week, and includes golf, hot dog, snacks and drink. Some golf equipment is available for junior golfers.
